SINGAPORE (March 31, 2010) – This week, Singapore-based e-commerce payment solutions startup 2C2P officially “went green” after being awarded the Extended Validation (EV) SSL Certificate. Shown via a visual display of a green browser toolbar, the digital certificate reinforces 2C2P’s status as a trusted provider of innovative online payment services. The high-security digital certificate is supported by the latest web browser versions, namely Microsoft Internet Explorer 7, Mozilla Firefox 3.5, Safari 3.2, Opera 9.5 and Google Chrome.

With the newly issued certificate, e-commerce merchants using 2C2P’s payment solutions can now be even more confident that all online payment transactions processed by 2C2P’s infrastructure are secure and customers’ confidential data tunneled into the system remains safe.

The Extended Validation (EV) SSL Certificate was created by the Certificate Authority Browser Forum (CA/Browser Forum) in response to the rising incidence of online fraud and phishing scams, which has led to decreasing consumer confidence in the security of online payment transactions. With the newly created EV SSL Certificate, the CA/Browser Forum provides third-party security verification using a more intuitive method of displaying secure sites to online consumers.
